I purchased this vacuum at Walmart about 1.5 years ago for around $50.00. This vacuum works like a champ. In the past year and a half I have used it every day and it works great at extracting dust and even larger particles such as kitty litter out of carpet. My only complaint is the length of the hose. I am unable to reach the heating and cooling vents in my home when using the attachments and hose without also lifting the base of the vacuum off the ground. That is my only issue but because of the price I can't deduct a star for that reason alone.

This is a really good vacuum for the money. It's very lightweight, which I love for carrying it around my 3 story townhouse. It also sucks up a lot. 2 words of caution: the bucket that catches everything fills up pretty quickly. Err on the side of emptying it often while you're vacuuming. Also, make sure you clean the filter after every couple of uses. It seems to get dirty quickly and then the vacuum starts to spit out dirt, especially when you unhook the hose to do the stairs and stuff. All of this may be b/c I vacuum often (2-3 times a week) and have 2 kids, 2 dogs, and 1 cat running in and out of the house. I probably have more dirt to pick up than other people (hence the 2-3 times a week vacuuming). Good luck!

I have owned this vacuum cleaner for 2 months now and so far, I am very impressed. I work at a private Boarding School and live in a large house that 12 boys live in. Their ages are from 14-17. They use this vacuum 7 days a week, 3 times a day. Not only has it continued to last and perform as good as the $400 vacuums that the school buys us, it stands up to the beating that a teenage boy can do on a vacuum cleaner. Teenage boys tend to play "bumper cars" with the house vacuum cleaners, and this vacuum has held up to the best. We originally bought this vaccum cleaner as a back up vacuum cleaner to clean smaller areas. It has performed so well, that the boys use it on the entire house. They earn points for having a clean area, and also earn demerits if their areas are not clean. They are now choosing this vacuum cleaner to clean their areas.We have two Dirt Devils from the same price range and they sit in the closet because the boys don't like how they work.It's only been two months, so it will be intersting to see how long it lasts. I'll post a follow up at the 6 month mark.
