Newest Update, Jan 3rd, 2013:First off----YES---after 10 full years of use I would buy this unit again, without hesitation, no questions asked. I have used it LIGHT DUTY for the whole 10 years. On mostly hard floors and a couple of area rugs. It has been bullet-proof. I have a canister vac and a swiffer wet-jet for actual cleaning. This is important as the Eureka Easy Clean is a great little LIGHT DUTY, area, hair and crumb removal tool. That is what it is for and it excels at specifically that job.I should rate 5 stars...but it would need just a little bit more suction for that. If eureka increased the motor size (amperage) then it would get 5 stars. But I give it 4.9 for reliability and doing what it was designed to do.Response/rebuttal to a few 1 star reviews here:I am a school teacher. I am not affiliated with Amazon or Eureka(just to be clear).re: Weekly use, primary vacuum: This unit is clearly not designed to be the primary vacuum for a carpeted residence, to be used on a weekly basis. That is just plain crazy. This is nothing more than an modern dust-buster on a stick with a beater-brush. It is OBVIOUSLY only this. It even looks like a dust-buster on a stick. How is this confusing?re: children: If this unit is given to children to use they will suck up large items into the beater brush, causing it to not spin, which then burns out the belt. Then the belt wont stay on. This would happen to any vacuum. This is why we don't vacuum up pennies and nails into beater brushes. This is why we don't allow children to use vacuums without supervision.re: carpet: using this unit on carpet, especially deep pile carpet, for heavy use, is going to strain the beater-brush, clog the head with deep carpet, starve the motor, burn up the belt and generally kill the unit. It is OBVIOUSLY not designed for this type of use (abuse).re: low-suction: I think it works a bit better than I initially gave it credit for (as stated in my review and updates below). It often DOES pick up leaves, grass, and some small pebbles off of my hardwood, even though it clearly was not designed for such use. It works real well for picking up dog hair off of my low-pile area rugs in my living room. I have no complaints whatsoever about the suction. Larger, more expensive vacuums have "real suction." So does my shop vac. This unit has just enough suction to work as it was designed to work. For a quick vacuum of the kitchen, living room and laundry (cat box). It was made for hard floors and area rugs. NOT carpeted residences.(I find it somewhat shocking that these things have to be explained...but the one star reviewers are almost all guilty of at least one of the above assumptions/violations.)Older updates and original review below:*****UPDATE--2004****I have used this machine for 2 years. The container fills up relatively fast. But--I really like this unit. I use it more than my high-suction, larger vac. For routine, spot cleaning and/or a quick run-through, this is really a good unit. Not the strongest suction--but come on--look at it--it is a small, budget unit. It says "lightweight" right in the title for gosh sake.I would buy it again. I have a small, 20 foot extension I keep in the closet with the vacuum. Without an extension cord you will be plugging into each outlet along the wall as you work. Thanks for pointing this out. I should have!}}I have had this unit for 10 years now. Wow! It still works GREAT. The re-usable, empty-able vacuum bag needs emptying after every use (dog hair...). I take the removable part outside, remove the bag, and knock it against the inside of the garbage can....then RUN. Dust puffs up everywhere.The suction really is not bad. Not strong enough for deep carpet, but absolutely ideal for hardwood, low pile, etc. My main vacuum died (switch) and this one works so well that I have not repaired the switch on the other on for about 6 months now. This is a really good unit for what it is. Get it now. Don't hesitate. If they still sell them....I may buy another just to have a backup for when the one I have dies. Get it now for your kitchen or living room. Easy. Awesome and does exactly what it should. Stop shopping. Get it. Disclaimer: this OBVIOUSLY is not a Dyson. You are OBVIOUSLY not spending $300. You get what you pay for. This is a GREAT small, light-duty vacuum.

I was pleasantly surprised at the ability of this little vac to pick up pet hair. Removing the handle is accomplished easily to facilitate cleaning pet hair from furniture. The vac can be operated with the revolving brush on or off by selecting the appropriate setting at the switch.
It's great for small quick cleanups on carpet or cleaning bare floors. Make no mistake, this is not a replacement for a full-size, full-power vac. As a test I used this product on a section of heavy-traffic carpet that went two weeks without cleaning. It picked up the pet hair fairly well and filled it's dust cup. I then cleaned the same section with a new Bissel Cleanview Bagless upright (I've also written a review for the Bissel). The Bissel picked up enough pet hair, dust and dirt to fill the Eureka's dust cup several times. The dust cup on the Eureka is easy to remove but messy to empty and tapping it to remove the dust results in dust flying everywhere.
Keeping in mind what it's designed for, I give the Eureka Boss Superbroom 4 stars. If you have lots of carpeting in your home, don't even consider this to be your primary vac. As a primary vac I would give it only one star.

I have a great vacuum, but wanted something simple for the kitchen, bathroom, and other places that I didn't want to have to fight with the big vacuum to clean.
The SuperBroom is great for everyday and general cleaning. You can also remove the long handle and use the broom much like a powerful dustbuster. (The top of my fridge looks fantastic now)
Although I mainly use this for hard floors/tile, I did have great results on my carpeted steps.
Some people complain that this won't stand up on it's own... which I don't understand. It leans when needed and is so light that rarely do I ever stand it; except when I'm finished and need to store the broom in my closet. And, it's so small it fits in their perfectly.
Why not 5 stars?
It's good for daily cleaning, but with the title of "Superbroom" it should be able to pick up even the must stubborn crumb.
