By BluIgwana
Bought this vacuum to replace a 4-year old repair-prone Hoover WindTunel that died in a smoky haze. Previously owned a Eureka bagless, also disappointment. This time, I researched and tested models for comparison. Overall, Luv400T is performing better than expected, my Pros and Cons (I have high pile carpets and ceramic tile floors):PROS: 1. Box lightweight/vacuum easy to assemble. 2. The bagless container EASY to empty, design limits the mess (it compacts the floor debris so it comes out in a solid versus loose and blowing around). 3. Switch suction level and carpet/floor option using fingertip control. 4. Foot pedal to adjust height level. Attachments easy to switch. 5. Lighter/easier to push than Kenmore Intuition. Better carpet suction than Hoover WindTunnel Anniversary model. 6. Luv400T is QUIET compared to most (my pets don't run away). 7. Great on pet hair pick up (floor & sofa). Suction on carpet better than model Luv300B. Great on bare floors, above average carpet suction. 8. Dusting wand on low suction great on wood blinds and quick furniture dusting. No bags to buy, comes w/extra filter. 9. Comes with a mattress attachment that gets dust/debris without damage mattress.CONS: I miss self-propelled feature, that would make this vacuum. List price is high, but you get what you pay for & Sears always has sales/specials. Carpet suction improved, but could be stronger.WHY I BOUGHT IT: I can switch options, mode, features of this vacuum with little effort, and no turning off vacuum. Very efficient. I have other LG products, they have been repair free and reliable.WHY I WAS SURPRISED: Easier to use than I thought, bagless design very good, operates at lower noise level than most, mattress attachment more useful than expected.

By My honest opinion
I never thought I would love a vacuum - but this one is great. I have lots of dust and dog hair because I live in a dry climate with 2 dogs that shed a lot. I have owned several Hoover Wind Tunnels and also a Bissell pet hair vacuum. The Hoovers have those paper cylinder filters that get dust covered and have to be cleaned off multiple times each time I vacuum or it cuts the suction. The Bissell is better but does not have nearly the suction that the LG has.The suction on the LG is so great that dog hair and dust bunnies on hard floors are sucked up if they are just close to the vacuum. The way it compacts the dirt is also great which makes it very easy to empty the dirt cannister without having dust and dirt flying everywhere.Another great feature is the automatic shutoff on the brush head if something like a sock gets sucked up and stuck. You just remove the stuck item and then push the reset button. This helps minimize the damage on the item sucked up, but is really designed to protect the vacuum.I also have a lot of hardwood floors and have had absolutely no problems using the vacuum the same way I do on carpet. I think there is just a misunderstanding on the instruction manual because it says one of the wands is for hardwood floors. You don't need to use a wand to do the hardwood floors. The only issue I have is that the suction is so strong even with the high setting that it does suck up the edge of small throw rugs. However I am willing to work around this to get the great suction this vacuum has. I have never had a bagless or bagged vacuum with the suction this machine has.I am surprised that LG doesn't advertise it or a lot more people would buy it. I bought it because the Consumer Reports rating said it had suction as good as bagged vacuums - and with the amount of dog hair I vacuum up I didn't want to go back to paying for bags.

By J. Lowe
Three stars means "I like it". But:Here's the Pros:1.) It really sucks! (That's a good thing!) It has tremendous suction power.2.) It is an efficient bagless upright. I swear after the first use, my carpets got an inch taller!3.) Emptying the canister is easy and there's no mess.4.) The brush stops turning when the handle if upright. A feature I really like. You don't have to worry about scorching your carpets while using the other attachments.5.) The Pet Turbine attachment is great for stairs, edges and small openings.6.) The 30-foot cord is a smart feature that limits the number of times you have to change outlets. The Cons:1.) The vacuum is very heavy.2.) When you pull the vacuum towards you, there's a tendency to pull up on the handle. Unfortunately, if you pull to high, the brush will stop turning before the handle is fully upright.3.) The wand and hose are awkward to use. The hose stretches out to about six feet but the tension wants to pull it back to its original shape and you have to hold it stretched out with one hand while working. And if you use the wand on a bare floor, the vacuum travels with you as you pull on the hose.4.) I noticed after using the vacuum, there was a light coating of dust on the outside of it. That means it is sending some dust and dirt into the air.If you are "strong like bull" and can get used to some slight awkwardness this is a good machine.
