I have four dogs, so I generally go through vacuums quickly. The only one that lasted more than a couple of years, was my dyson animal, but that didn't survive our move across country. When I saw this one, promising the same cleaning power at half the price, I thought I'd give it a try.I am quite impressed with the suction on this vacuum. It not only picked up a ton of dirt and grim, but stood the carpet up, making it at least feel like new. I have read reviews complaining about having to clean the filters so often. In my experience, this is standard maintenance for all bagless machines. I usually rinse everything out after each cleaning, letting it dry overnight. Then it is ready to go the next day. Not really a hassle.The few gripes I have are small. Emptying the canister can be annoying, especially if you have filled it past the fill line. You will find yourself pulling dirt, hair, and whatnot out by hand. Bothersome, yes, but not a deal breaker, as again, this is pretty common with bagless vacuums.The stair and upholstery tool also bugs me. First, it is held onto the front of the machine with a small magnet. In the two days that I have had it, I have knocked it off its perch several times. Also, when I cleaned my stairs, it clogged repeatedly. I would get a few stairs done, and the brush would stop spinning. I kept having to stop and try to get it moving again. Not sure what I am missing with that one. When it worked, it worked great. It picked up better than any hand tool I have ever used before. In all fairness, I had been out of town and my husband hadn't cleaned the stairs in well over a week. Maybe, I gave this tool too big a job. Four dogs worth of hair can be a lot to ask of any machine.This machine has a cord rewind function. It's nice for those people who hate winding the cord when they are done vacuuming. However, like most models that have this feature, it is not perfect. It is not a strong recoil, so it will usually get so far and then stop. You then need to pull it out a bit and try again. The times I have used it, it took a few attempts to completely wind the cord up.Overall, I happy with this vacuum. There are a few pet peeves, but for the money, I don't think they are deal breakers. Lets hope it lasts as long as the Dyson, as well as cleans like it.

I bought this vac because the box stated, "Sucks Better Than Dyson". Well it sucks alright. Three months after I bought this vac, the brush roll spun out completely and had to be replaced. Eureka did good on finding a local store to replace the part for free under warranty. Two months after that, the brush roll drive assembly bearing spun out. Again, Eureka had it fixed locally for free. I should have just dont it myself. The part is not expensive, but a vac should last longer and not have continuous problems. First vac I ever owned that gave me multiple problems in such a short amount of time. I no longer own it.

I randomly ended up buying this vacuum cleaner when my Eureka Airspeed was acting like a failure. I have a cat and as most pet owners will tell you, pet hair wreaks havoc on vacuum cleaners.PROS: HEPA Filter! Automatic cord rewinder. Cleans carpet extremely well. The carpet height adjustor feels sturdy and turns smoothly. There are like 6 adjustment levels in addition to a bare floor setting which was really useful in getting very close to the carpet without getting too close or end up being too far. I think this function goes a long way in allowing this vacuum cleaner to clean carpets so well. I LOVE that there is a button, operable by foot, to turn the brush roll on/off. The knob to switch between floor and tool setting is within arms reach and turns super smoothly and clicks into place. I never liked using vacuum cleaners for hard floors because they cleaned them soo poorly. Standing behind those other vacuums, I could feel the dirt being kicked back at me instead of being sucked up. So my current method of cleaning for hard floors was the rubbermaid reveal. But out of curiosity, seeing how there was a knob to turn the brushroll off, I decided to try the hardfloor setting. It was PATHETIC. Larger pieces of debris that I could clearly see with my eyes were not even touched. I wanted to give it one last try before I chalked this vacuum up as another failure on hard floors. So I changed the height setting to the "low carpet", or lowest carpet setting, the one just before the hardfloor setting, turned the brushroll off, and voila! Immediately I saw the vacuum head drop and get super close to the floor. Now when I vacuumed my tile, everything was being sucked up. Thrilled!!! I decided to give it another test, use it on hardwood floors as this vacuum cleaner claims it is safe for them too. On my dark hardwood floors, every tiny speck of dirt and dust is noticeable. And here I could see even more plainly how well the vacuum picked up everything. In the corners, it would literally draw debris to it, amazing! It picked up all the cat hair very very well. Only a few strands were left behind. Since I have almost 3,000 sqft of hard floors alone, being able to use a vacuum to clean them is such a huge advantage over any other cleaning system. So my satisfaction with this vacuum has literally shot through the roof. To be realistic though, this is a new vacuum, and its performance is at its peak when its new, and will diminish over time. Another important thing I noted, this vacuum does not blow dust out all around me, and at the end of my vacuuming, the vacuum did not have a fine layer of dust on itself, so it seems to not only be removing the dust from the surroundings but keeping it in. Proof was in the debris container.CONS: The debris container fills up fast because this vacuum removes an incredible amount of dust. When I emptied out my other vacuum, I would get mostly balls of debris and little fine dust. With this, the fine dust packs a thick layer at the bottom of the container, underneath the balls of debris. I empty out the container once or twice per room. But emptying out the container this frequently also means I never have to dig stuck debris out by hands. Actually I am very happy it is picking up so much more so emptying container out more frequently, not really a con. Automatic cord rewind feature does not function well all the time. Over a short period of time I absolutely see this problem getting much worse. It is possibly the worst and most cheaply designed feature of this vacuum, but still this is no issue for me since it doesnt save any time or end up being more convenient over manually tying up the cord. With the automatic cord rewinders, you end up spending the time pulling the cord out all the way by hand and save time when winding them back up. When manually tying up cords, you spend the time manually tying them up, and no time unwinding them. So it evens out. Another con is the hose doesnt stretch out much at all so that feature has very limited functionality.
